ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION (ETA)
Prior to March 15, 2016, some countries did not require a travel authorization or visa to travel to Canada for short-term travel.
Recently, Canada has introduced a system called electronic travel authorization. This travel authorization system, called eTA, permits applicants to visit Canada through an easy online eTA application process, only for those with a nationality of a visa-exempt country wishing to visit Canada.
Although it is not officially a visa, it is also called a travel visa for convenience because it is similar to a travel visa. The eTA is valid for up to five years or until the passport they use to request it expires, and it is recommended to do the procedure before booking your flight to Canada.
With this permission, you can travel to Canada as many times as they want and they can stay there for up to six months. However, if you currently have a valid visa to travel to Canada, it will not be necessary to process an eTA. With the visa, you can enter this country without a problem until it expires.
The eTA is not a visa, so processing it is very simple. The entire process is completed in just a few minutes through the Internet. You only need three things:
Once the application is completed, you will receive an email in which the Canadian Ministry of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship confirm that he has received the procedure. Then, the agency will send a second email to inform you that the eTA has been approved or denied.
The progress can be followed through our website and email updates. When your eTA is approved, you can already travel to Canada, and your passport has already been linked to the eTA. Usually, the approval can range from a few minutes to up to 3 days.
